Today, I will be sharing some of the concepts I learnt from Marshall Goldsmith’s What Got You Here Won’t Get You There: How Successful People Become Even More Successful. Essentially, Goldsmith asserts that there are 21 habits that prevent successful people from getting to the next level. I am just going to touch on a few of those habits here:
Habit No. 3: Passing Judgment
When someone proposes an idea, what are we likely to do? Goldsmith recommends that instead of offering an opinion, say “Thanks, you’ve given me something to think about”. If we do this every time someone offers an idea, at least 3 good things will happen:

How Successful People Become Even More Successful
I was just speaking to a good friend on Tuesday and she was asking me about the number of seminars that I would be attending in the next few months. When I started to list them out, she immediately blurted out “Seminar Junkie!”
You see, I have already committed close to $20,000 on various self-improvement, personal development and wealth creation seminars. No, I don’t have truckloads of money to burn (Not yet anyway). The reason for my supposedly irrational behavior is simple: I see it as an investment in myself rather than an expense.
Now, different people attend seminars or seminar previews for a variety of diverse reasons. Some of them are forced to go to accompany their friends/spouses. Others attend because they are curious.
Then there are those who are genuinely interested to learn and apply at least a tiny fraction of the knowledge gained, so that they can improve their lives. It is no wonder then that the same seminar can have such drastically disparate results on each and every one attendee!
For those who want to get the most out of any seminar, allow SJ the “Seminar Junkie” to share with you some proven tips: Continue Reading »
5 Proven Tips to get the most out of any Seminar
What’s the difference between the 5% of individuals who succeed and the 95% that don’t?
Now I have been to numerous different seminars and seminar previews over the past few months and the funny thing is that they all ask this very question! And would you believe that they provide the same answer too?
The difference between the 5% of individuals who are able to lead extraordinarily rich, fulfilling lives and the grumpy 95% that are barely struggling to survive is that the former TAKE ACTION.
Be it buying a self-improvement book and actually reading and applying the ideas there, attending seminars and following up on at least one key concept shared or simply, going up to a stranger, shake his hand and begin a conversation, the people who are going to get anything done in life are the ones who go out and just do it.
